This penthouse is located in the small seaside resort of Zoumperi on the Athens Riviera. It offers a unique vacation experience with a private roof terrace from which you can enjoy mountain and sea views. It is ideally located close to the best sandy beach in the area, as well as cities such as Athens, Nea Makri, Rafina, Naxos, Santorini and Mykonos.
About the apartment
The apartment is located at the top of the building and is the only one on the 3rd floor, providing complete privacy. It is approximately 70 m² and is furnished for 2 people, with the possibility of 2 extra beds on the sofa bed in the living room. The layout consists of a spacious entrance hall, a modern marble bathroom with shower, a fully equipped kitchen with dining area, a bedroom and a cozy living room with dining table and sofa. On the terrace you will also find a washing machine. The apartment has air conditioning in both the bedroom and living room.
Location and transportation
The apartment is located in a quiet area just a few minutes' walk from one of the best sandy beaches along the Athens Riviera. The location is ideal and is only 20 km from Athens Airport, 40 km from the center of Athens and close to both Marathon and Nea Makri. The small seaside resort of Zoumperi offers a few shops and restaurants (some only open during the summer months), while Nea Makri, just 2 km away, has a wide range of restaurants and shops open all year round. Two main roads run along the coast, Poseidonos close to the water and Marathonos behind the town, where you'll find supermarkets and a wide range of shops. From Rafina, about 10 km from the apartment, there are ferries to the Aegean Islands, including Naxos, Santorini and Mykonos.
The area can be explored without a car, as both taxi and bus services are cheap and easily accessible.
Practical information
- The final cleaning is mandatory and costs EUR 80. It includes linen, towels and tea towels. The amount must be left in cash upon departure.
- Consumption is charged at DKK 21 per person per day and is automatically added to the price. Remember to state the correct number of people when booking.
- There are good parking options at the property.

Cozy apartment with good rooms. If it's cold some days like we unfortunately had, it's hard to heat it properly as there is only heat in the bedroom and living room. It draws in at the door in the kitchen. There is everything you need in the apartment. The terrace is fantastic with plenty of space and plenty of opportunity to find shelter if it's a bit windy. There are great views out over the water. However, I would definitely recommend renting a car as it is far to the nearest supermarket, we did not find anything within a radius of 1.5 km and it is far to walk with goods.
A beautiful and newly renovated apartment with a lovely terrace and a great location close to the beach. We were there in early April and it is out of season, so it was very quiet in the area.
Most restaurants and bars only open after Easter or later. Therefore, we recommend renting a car to get to the nearest towns of Nea Markri, Marathon and others.
There is also approx. 4 km to the nearest supermarket, so a car is a clear advantage and you have good parking options at the apartment.
The apartment in Nea Makri is a good and well-appointed apartment. Everything works.
The biggest asset is the huge terrace with great views and there is always shelter, shade or sun somewhere on the terrace. Out of season the area is a bit quiet, but in Nea Makri (5 euros by taxi) there are many restaurants, shopping opportunities and more life on the street/port.
The apartment is very nice and with plenty of space for four people. High standard of cleaning. Perfect terrace with plenty of space. The view is also nice, though with an eyesore of an abandoned house to one side.
Unfortunately, the surrounding area is somewhat dead in the off-season (we were there in the fall break). In Nea Makri there are much better options and good restaurants.
Tip: rent a car. If you're going to Athens, you can park at the outer metro station (Doukissis Plakentias).
Very nice and clean apartment that is incredibly well located :-). Nice sandy beach. If you swim a little to the right of La Costa (when your back is turned) there are stones in the water. Good places to eat approx. 2 km. from the apartment at Marathon Beach.

We have had a fantastic summer vacation 2024 of 10 days in the apartment. The apartment is super - but could suggest optimizing with: wifi - barbecue and maybe a few fun games for the terrace - microwave. Incidentally, the area is nice and quiet and not "touristy", but not many good restaurants close to the apartment - and a larger supermarket a few kilometers away. The good thing is that both Uber and Wolt work fine (at wolt we recommend "gyro gyro oloi" for Greek food and "Lucilio italian gastronomy" for delicious Italian dishes) - however, you must remember to write that they must note that the address is in zoumperi and not nea makri ... we experienced 2 times that they navigated to the wrong address 🙂 ... Furthermore, AMARA beach club can be recommended - good service and sun loungers are free as long as you buy some drinks and/or food. But super recommendation from here to have a nice quiet and relaxing vacation in this apartment.
Great terrace and nice apartment close to lovely beach. The area itself is somewhat neglected, many shops closed, far to actual shopping.
The apartment is located in Zouberi, which has a perfect beach (200 meters walk) with very nice beach bars (about 10) and all were open with many guests in early June. There are 10-15 restaurants in Zouberi. There is a bakery below the large playground, which is about 300 meters from the apartment. It is 2 km to the center of Nea Makri, from where you can walk to Marathon beach. It is also worth driving to Marathon to see the starting point of the real Marathon race and the Marathon museum. There are plenty of shops on the road to Marathon (Marathonas), which is 2 km from the apartment. It is about 10 km to Rafina, from where all the ferries sail to the islands in the Aegean Sea. Athens city center is about 40 km away and there is a bus from Nea Makri. During the summer season you do not need to rent a car as there is shopping in Zouberi (small shops), but we paid 600 kr to rent a car, so it's not that expensive regardless, but a bit of a hassle if you had chosen a car with shuttle bus as we did. It is not recommended. Rent a car that is on the airport grounds.
Very nice new apartment! Quiet area outside high season. Some restaurants are open but few guests. Close to beach and small grocery store, far to 'everything' else.

Sewer work is still ongoing, which may mean that the water is shut off. Do not drink the tap water at this time.
The location is good but the area is somewhat deserted, especially out of season. Therefore, a car will make the experience better with more options to get around and to Athens. Good size for 2 with very nice terrace and great views.

Roof terrace is simply outstanding.
Bathroom and toilet are not that big, but definitely usable.
Noise from sewer renovation on surrounding roads, but it will be limited until the end of April 2024.
