Hacienda Competa

Holiday home with pool, mountain views and authentic village atmosphere

Nestled in the Andalusian mountains, the charming white village of Cómpeta is a classic Spanish mountain town full of life and atmosphere. Its winding streets hide tapas bars, wine bars and small squares where parties with live music are held from time to time. When this happens, just follow the sound through the city and you'll end up in the square behind the town hall, where young and old gather for a true Spanish city party. With only a 1-minute drive to the city or a walk along the paths through the mountains, you're always close to the charm of the city.

About the holiday home

Hacienda Cómpeta consists of three houses, which together provide plenty of space and flexibility for larger groups.

In the first house, you'll find a large communal kitchen and dining room downstairs, perfect for shared meals. The house has two bedrooms on the first floor, each with its own bathroom and kitchenette.

The second house has three rooms, all with private bathrooms.

The third house has two smaller apartments on the ground floor. Both have bedrooms, living room, kitchenette and bathroom. On the first floor there are three rooms with a private bathroom and kitchenette. On the top floor you'll find a room with a kitchenette, bathroom and a private roof terrace all around with breathtaking views of the area.

Between the houses is an inviting swimming pool with sunbathing areas where you can enjoy the sun all day long. Around the grounds are terraces with plenty of space for outdoor dining, so the whole group can gather under the stars. There's also table tennis and other outdoor activities, making it ideal for children and adults alike.

  1. Birthe and Jens

Great vacation home for a large family.
    Unique kitchen facilities.
Everything was perfect and great feeling of welcome.

  2. Poul-Erik Pedersen and Kirsten Norup

Very cozy Hacienda with well-appointed rooms in different sizes and layouts. Rooms 1-6 in the large high-rise building have many steps between floors and also down to the pool area.
Rooms 7-8 are located above the communal kitchen/dining room and have access via external steel stairs, which can be slippery in damp weather.
Rooms 9-10 and 11 in the Pool House are the smallest rooms and have a shared tea kitchen.
These three rooms are suitable for people who have difficulty with stairs.
Great kitchen facilities and dining room with plenty of space for communal dining inside and out.
We were 15 family members ranging in age from 9 to 80 years old.
The 80 year olds used the pool house for convenience.
Our stay was in late June early July with daytime temperatures up to 37 degrees. It was bearable as there was a light pleasant breeze and good shade areas on site.
All in all, a super nice stay in Hacienda Competa, and for visits to surrounding towns and attractions.
Highly recommended for large families of all ages and groups of good friends.

  3. Jonna Riber

Incredibly nice place - everything is just fine. We were 10 people and thought it was luxury with all the space. The outdoor area is ideal for both adults and children - the only downside is that it is 35 minutes to the beach

  4. Charlotte Ottar Merland

We have just been 7 friends and what an adventure! We felt like princes and princesses in our castle! I can fully agree with the other reviews, it is simply outstanding in every way and we will definitely come again with friends or family. (The "only" four ⭐️ for location is the approximately 37 minute mountain drive to the beach in Torrox - or the favorite Nerja. But it's worth the trip and you can't have it all in one go).

  5. Peter Bertelsen

Super nice accommodation where you are away from daily noise, but still close to the city

  6. Dorte Nybroe

Really lovely and spacious holiday home - suitable for groups of around 20 people with a lovely outdoor area and pool. Well-appointed rooms with private toilet/bath and kitchenette. All in all, a perfect setting for a multi-generational family vacation.

  7. Jan ole Larsen

Super hacienda for a large family gathering. We had invited the family, who could come as they pleased. There was room for everyone, both young and old. Even if they wanted some private space. Common areas and apartments with lots of equipment and private terraces. Great views all around.
Be prepared for 30 minutes of mountain driving. You'll arrive in a cozy local mountain village that you can walk to with a little mountain leg. There are plenty of restaurants and local activity.
There are many hiking routes in the area, but find a map first. You can cover a lot of ground.
The technology was a bit lagging during our stay. But the problems were quickly taken care of. Therefore 4 stars for comfort.

  8. Peter Rasmussen/Dorthe Mejlvang (Rivolta ApS)

We were really happy with Hacienda Competa. The three buildings with a pool in between were the perfect setting for 20 of us, with plenty of space to spare.
We were impressed by the kitchen layout - there are simply two of everything: Fridge, stove, dishwasher, you name it.
Almost every room seemed to have its own fridge and at least a sink, in addition to a toilet and shower.
It all seemed new and well thought out.
The town of Competa is quite nice with some shopping opportunities and many restaurants. It's a bit steep, but you can easily walk on foot.

  9. Lone Hedemand

Really lovely hacienda with space for a large family or group of friends. Very nicely decorated and with a lovely outdoor area around the pool with barbecue area, lounge area, dining area and space for table tennis and darts etc. The large and well-equipped kitchen has all the crockery needed for many people as well as 2 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers and a large freezer. The apartments are all bright and friendly with kitchenettes and many with access to balconies or terraces. 10 min. walk with good mountain legs to the town of Competa with many lovely eateries and a real Spanish atmosphere in the square. It's a bit far if you want to go to the beach about 1/2-3/4 hours drive, so therefore "only" 4 stars for the location, which otherwise has fantastic views of the mountains and the Mediterranean.
