Karin Strandhus

This small town has a rich history dating back to the Roman period, as evidenced by the archaeological remains of a small amphitheater and the temple of the Liburnian goddess Latra. At that time, the city had the status of a Roman municipium. In the past, the town's population was mainly engaged in animal husbandry and viticulture, and today tourism is the main occupation.

True Croatian holiday atmosphere at the water's edge

Karin is a small Croatian town with a rich history dating back to Roman times. Here you can still find archaeological remains, including a small amphitheater and the temple of the Liburnian goddess Latra. The city used to be characterized by agriculture and viticulture. Today, tourism is the main attraction and for good reason. Karin offers a true Mediterranean atmosphere, beautiful bays and cozy surroundings that make it an ideal holiday destination.

A half-hour drive will take you to Zadar, a historic city full of experiences. Here you can stroll along the beautiful harbor promenade, experience the famous sea organ, explore ancient churches and enjoy a wealth of restaurants serving both local specialties and international cuisine.

Super cozy and relaxing holiday week 31-2025. The house is super nice and is beautifully located by the water. Drive the beach chairs the 20m down to the pier and bring the house's SUP boards - then there is shopping, bar, ice cream parlors and super good pizzas 1.5 km away - BUT strong recommendation to rent a car and drive out into the area and to Zadar. Both to shop in the larger supermarket and experience both Zadar and the beautiful nature. Walk about 5-800 m to the right along the water here is a cozy beach bar

    Super nice house and decor.
The only downside is the bathroom. I don't understand why "we" don't just fix the drain instead of us all having to start by cleaning the drain on arrival as already described in the practical PDF. It can't cost many dollars to fix it for good or to get the cleaning to do it every time.
In addition, one SUPboard was defective (and reported defective back in August 2024), it is now fixed.

If you're into relaxing and swimming by the beach, this property is for you.
It is located in the first row to the water. It's a "lake" with access to the sea, so it's a quiet area where you won't be disturbed by jet skis and fast speedboats. The water is nice and warm here in the summer. There is both a small beach and a pier with steps down to the water.
The house is a good size, there is a large living room/kitchen in one with a sofa bed and dining table. There are two large bedrooms with closet space. There are two terraces, one of which is cozy covered with grape vines growing up the roof. From here there is a good view of the water.
There is a small "town" with several supermarkets, restaurants, ice cream parlor, trade stalls, a small amusement park and beach 2 km away. It is possible to park there.
We drove there from Zealand in 24 hours, including traffic jams and small breaks. It is also possible to fly and then rent a car at the airport.
A great house for relaxing for a family, two couples of friends or a romantic getaway.

Nice house with everything. Located just outside a small town with average restaurants. But just 10-15 car there are much better dining options.
Great views and very close to its own beach.

  5. Thomas Seest

Really nice accommodation in a less touristy area. We especially appreciated the newly renovated house with a nice terrace and that it is only 20 meters to the water. The house is a bit far from a well-stocked grocery store. The nearest Plodine is in Benkovac, about 20 km drive from the site. There is Chromecast built into the TV which the kids really appreciated.
    We had a great vacation!

Nice house to visit, maybe just a piece of garden furniture on the balcony where there is sun in the morning

Nice house to visit, maybe just a garden door on the balcony where there is sun in the morning

  8. Iben worry-free

Very nice house right on the beach. Local area, very quiet, no nightlife, which we really appreciated! The downside is of course that you have to drive a bit to restaurants etc. Good furnishings, nice beds and own parking space! Nice brick bridge right outside the house. Very nice hiking opportunities with different levels of difficulty in the immediate area and further afield. Perfect for both families with children and the older couple;)

  9. Ole Kjær

Great location for a peaceful vacation right on the beachfront. Well-appointed house with good beds and modern furnishings.
